The Brazilian forward headed in just before half-time after Lucas Leiva flicked on James Milner’s free-kick.
Milner should have made it two nil in the second half before Simon Mignolet, for the second game in a row, saved the Reds. The keeper made a superb late save with his legs as Matt Phillip burst through on goal.
West Brom pushed everyone forward late on including keeper Ben Foster for a corner. Liverpool cleared the corner and Alberto Moreno should have killed the game after he broke forward but missed the open goal from long range.
It’s a massive three points for the Reds who moved up to third place in the Premier League with five games to play.Tweet
